Learning as a new media, augmented by Astra.
AI and design working together to generate dynamic learning support. Made with GPT6 Astra, for the book format of a foldable iPhone.

Beyond the chat
I never found a chat UI alone particularly engaging to learn new things.
Some subjects require a certain amount of focus and immersive feeling, and deserve better than static plain text on flat boring design. That’s why we usually prefer the movie version of a story to the book one (mostly when you have no attention span).

Curiosity, by design
That’s where creative design comes in, to help create this engaging experience, that really sparks curiosity and the will to learn about a topic, to invest the user and make them really proactive.
- Today’s curiosityA question a day, and a gesture to test it: straighten Earth’s axis, then restore its 23.44°.
- Go a little deeperOne more layer of reading, only for those who ask for it.
- Drag to exploreEvery world turns under the finger, with its moons around it.
- The timelineAny date, in real time or sped up, with every planet where it really is.

AI and design
AI empowers both here, and it’s best when meant for this.
Ask Orrery answers with a visual to play with rather than a paragraph: a pull you can weigh, a system of moons to open, a lap around the Sun. For now the demo runs on prepared answers, without a live AI.
